Black History Month is a celebration of African and Caribbean culture and the contribution which those of African and Caribbean ancestry have made to our society.
St. Anne’s will be commemorating Black History Month this October through a series events. Assemblies will focus on the topics of Black History Month and Inclusivity and Diversity.
Reflection time this month will be centred around ‘Black Excellence’; we will be sharing information about inspirational Black Women in Britain who are excellent role models for our students. Display’s will be used to promote and demonstrate the invaluable contributions of people of African and Caribbean descent in our society.
Our online platforms will be used to share interviews/podcasts/conferences/documentaries about Black Excellence and Black History throughout this month. We aim to use this month as an opportunity to encourage discussions about Black History, inspire our students, and promote a thriving and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
