Mock Election
We are thrilled to share the fantastic work our students have done in preparation for our recent mock election.
This initiative provided them with invaluable skills in public speaking, campaign management, and an understanding of the importance of voting.
Election Day Preparation and Activities:
-
Campaigns in Action: From June 25th, students have been immersed in the election process, witnessing political broadcasts, speeches, and campaign posters throughout the school.
-
Assemblies: Students attended extended assemblies where each political party has been represented by our sixth formers in Year 12. They prepared excellent speeches and responded to questions impeccably! These sessions were crucial in educating our students about the election process and the significance of their vote.
-
Political Broadcasts: Students also created their own political broadcasts which have been shown during form-time, allowing students to learn about each party’s platform.
Election Day - July 4th:
On Election Day, students participated enthusiastically, casting their votes during designated times throughout the day. Polling stations were set up, the votes were then meticulously counted, and the results were eagerly awaited and shared the following Friday.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this mock election a success. The dedication and effort put in by students and staff alike have made this an enriching experience, equipping our students with essential life skills and a profound appreciation for democracy.
