Jack Petchey Speak Out Runner Up 2025

Helena Carvalho, from year 10 recently participated in the Enfield Regional Final of Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge, the largest public speaking programme in England. The event took place on February 10, 2025, and saw Helena achieve the impressive position of Runner Up.
Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge, managed by Speakers Trust and supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation, aims to amplify young voices by building confidence and developing communication skills. The programme provides free communication skills training to Year 10 students in every state school in London and Essex, empowering over 30,000 young people each year.
Helena’s speech, titled “100%!”, emphasised the importance of giving one’s best effort in all endeavors. The key message highlighted how personal fulfilment and success are achieved through the energy and commitment invested in various pursuits.
On receiving her trophy, Helena said 'I'd like to thank everyone involved for the opportunity and remember to always try your best!"
The Enfield Regional Final featured 15 participants, with a total of 785 young people taking part in the competition. Helena expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "I'd like to thank everyone involved for the opportunity and remember to always try your best!
