Remote Education Provision
Information for Parents
This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to students and parents/carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home.
A student’s first day or two of being educated remotely might look different from our standard approach, while we take all necessary actions to prepare for a longer period of remote teaching.
What should my child expect from immediate remote education in the first day or two of students being sent home?
We will set work for your child to complete as assignments via Microsoft Teams. These can be completely independently.
We teach the same curriculum remotely as we do in school wherever possible and appropriate. However, we have needed to make some adaptations in some subjects. For example, Physical Education lessons may focus on health & fitness, Art may focus on “dry” techniques such as drawing.
We will deliver remote teaching and learning through Microsoft Teams https://teams.microsoft.com. Students will be able to log in to this platform using their school email address and the same password they use to log on to the school computers. Teachers may also use other websites when setting work (e.g. Kerboodle, Mathswatch) – this will be outlined to them on their Subject Teams page via Microsoft Teams.
