Online Safety
At St. Anne’s Catholic High School for Girls we have a range of systems and resources in place to help keep the users and school systems safe and secure.
EDUCATION
To help educate students on keeping safe and using technology appropriately we have an Acceptable Use Policy for all members of the school using our computer systems.
The school organises regular assemblies and lessons in Computing to keep pupils aware of current issues with technology.
EDUCATION PARENTS AND CARERS
Parents are often concerned about the changing pace of the technology that their children use.
There are also many helpful websites designed to give guidance to parents:
CEOP: This website is the National Crime Agency website. CEOP Command (formerly the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) works with child protection partners across the UK and overseas to identify the main threats to children and coordinates activity against these threats to bring offenders to account. We protect children from harm online and offline, directly through NCA led operations and in partnership with local and international agencies.
Think You Know: This website, from CEOP is highly recommended to parents to explain about grooming, mobiles, gaming, social networking and ‘chat’. There is good guidance on how to report problems on the Internet using the CEOP report abuse button.
ChildNet: This website from ChildNet, contains mainly video information on current e-safety issues and a ‘text only’ version is available with translations in Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Urdu and British Sign Language.
